Hi im trying to install thsi game but it keeps saying i need direct x0 or higher but i already have directx 9.0c, any ideas on what to do?
wait, so your saying that when you launch the game it says you need DX 9 or higher, or when your installing. If your installing the game and it asks to install DX 9.0c just click yes, it might be an updated version from what you have, and if not, it will just skip it.
i have 9.0c, i needed it for ghost recon advanced warefighter. when it comes up with th euser agreement it has the option to click accept or decline but theres no text to read, then it says something along th elines of " you need direct x 0 or higher the installation will now exit you can download it from this site" i downloaded th elatest direct x from microsoft and still no joy
honestly, thats really weird. Well you basically have a couple options here. Before we jump to any conclusions, i would look around the web a little, ie search in some search engines to see if this is a common problem. If there isn't some workaround. I would try to re-install direct X along with carbon. If that doesn't work, it could possible be a problem within windows, ie it mike need to be re-installed, but i doubt it. At this point though i would just look around google or something and see if anything comes up.
ok, found a work around, here what you need to do. Right click on the install exe file ,,,, and go to compatibility and make it win2000, now that directx error won't come up, and it will install this. That should most definitely work, and if it doesn't then your last option is this Well it should work anyway. Uninstall direct x 9.0c and install 9.0a. Then it should install fine. Granted after words i don't think you'll be able to install 9.0c
