Having played it myself I think perhaps after a while the novelty factor will kick-in. Its fun to play with mates but nothing more than that in my opinion.

If your wondering I played Wii Sports which was quite fun, included the games Boxing, Bowling, Tennis and Golf. Tennis was the least impressive while the other three were pretty cool.

    what do you guys think?

I've also had a chance to play it, and it is pretty cool. I played the bowling porition and it played out about like I'd bowl in real life. It's a smart system, not to mention relatively inexpensive.

2 of my flatmates have them, it's incredible, Wii-Sports is stupidly entertaining and with the Wii it's not all about graphics etc, it's about gameplay and the experience!

Yes, one of my friends has the Wii.

    But I’m unimpressed, :(
No offence, but the Xbox 360 is much better. Of course, if you have friends coming over the Wii owns all. But otherwise, I’d much rather just sit on my couch and play CoD or something on my Xbox. Plus the Xbox Live options completely beats multiplayer options of the Wii and the PS3.

... and no I’m not fat, I’m a fencing champion here :chk:

One thing to consider though is that the Xbox 360 has been out for awhile, while the Wii is just picking up steam. It's definitely fun to play thanks to the controller and it's integration into gameplay. If I had kids and they wanted one, I'd definitely get it for them. Side note--I've been hunting for one for one of my cousins and finally snagged one and a second Wiimote bar this morning at work. There were a few more people ahead of me, but I had one in my hands, paid for and in my trunk inside of 15 minutes.

I was a rediculously loyal nintendo fan until two weeks ago, i was the first person in my town to get a wii at midnight and so on.

As far as i am concerned the wii is the greatest thing i have ever fetched into my home! Unfortunately i had to sell it, but i can say it is the best thing i have ever played and when it comes to the main point of playing games... the point being that they are fun the wii leaves everything else standing several miles away. I really hope that the wii is successful as it can change the course that the games industry is going down... graphics and power to one that will have much more meaningful results, how much better can raphics get, how good do graphics need to be? We are not far from the limit.

Anyway in short, Wii is amazing, everyone go and get one! maybe you even want to get to so that i can have one and once again experience the magic!

I agree with most of the sentiment echoed here! It's a blast for a gang of people but I can't help but feel slightly odd if I'm playing by myself! Definitely a part favorite though, and you can't beat the price for the entertainment value!

What I'm excited about is the possibilities of what developers can do with this console. While I appreciate awesome graphics as much as the next guy, I sort of feel like games aren't as much fun as they were a few years ago, they all just seem like rehashes of the same thing with better graphics. I'm hoping for some truly original stuff to come out on the Wii!

That Warioware game looks so addictive!

[ot]All is calm in the land of HWF, a slight breeze blows across the meadows of motherboards and RAM modules as Matt555 rips through the valley on his firey wheels of doom!!

Bit of metal-headed, computer-related story-telling there, threw that in free of charge... :p[/ot]

I played Zelda, it was OK, but appart from the difference of interaction, I wasn't very impressed. Im not a much of gamer.

One thing I think might be quite cool, would be a Time Crisis 4 on the Wii. That game rocked, but wheter the novelty was there because of the really lame plastic gun, Im not sure.

A Close friend of mine has a Wii, and given the choice, I'd rather have a PC. Although it is fun to play, in a group, I'd feel kind of stupid sitting on my sofa waving my arms around madly. I would also get VERY tired.

I think the focus on graphics is boring now a days, I'd rather have new concepts (like the Wii). I also like how easy it is/cool looking to remove games from the console.

I'm on a Wii now and although they're not brilliant, they're not bad. The only game i've played is Wii Sports and that gets boring after a while.

yeah, i played excite truck for it, and it was pretty good. and while the Wii provides new ways too play, (dont get me wrong, i love nintendo) but here in about 2-2 1/2 years, its gonna burn out. SAme with the PS3. with it losing its exclusive titles, fanboys gettin crazy, and the high price, soon Sony will burn out. (BTW im for all the sytems, i like micro., sony, and nin.)

nintendo has never been about being a powerhouse, or having the best graphics. nintendo has always been about the best game play and story lines. it's all about how the game plays, and quality of graphics comes second. for me, i like it, if i want awesome graphics, i'll just play something on my computer. if i want a really good adventure and story line, like zelda, i'll stick with nintendo.

I played Wii and didn't think it was anything special really. I watched my friend play Zelda and then we played Wii sports, and that was fun, but definitely not the kind of fun I get out of my computer. I really don't see the attractiveness of waving my arm(s) rather than punching buttons. It does allow for some more interesting sports games, obviously, but other than that it's basically all the same. I care about what I actually do in the game, that is, what happens in it. If I'm playing Zelda, for example, it's the adventures, storyline, etc that happens on the screen that determines the game value. The difference in interaction doesn't really do anything for me. So, as I normally don't find consoles much fun compared to my computer, the Wii didn't change that trend for me.

One thing that I think would be cool on the Wii, though, is if they had a game like Thief 2 that allowed you to realistically sword fight enemies in first person, with realistic parrying, stabbing, slashing, etc. Unless they already have a game like that? (I wouldn't know)

if so, they would have stuck with the 64 graphics, and not upgrade them every console.
