Hello, i am afraid that i have let my knowledge of computers slip from me and now i want it back!

In a month or two's time i am planning to get a new 19 inch HD TV and a new pc (with vista and an nVidia graphics card) and i was wondering what cables or outputs i would need to be able to connect the two and use my tv as my monitor.

Is there any way of having the pc displayed in hd quality?

The TV says it has a PC input connection does this mean that i can just use an ordinary pc to monitor cable and it will automatically put itself in hd?

    Thanks in advance!

I have a HDTV with a pc connection. It is a VGA connection, so you can use it as a monitor for your computer. It is the following connection:

you could just use a VGA cable, but you will get far better results if you use the grfx cards digital output, like this

there's a web page about it here

Ok, thanks, I can't wait to get myself a new computer, i am currently using a two year old laptop... which would be ok if it wasn't for the fact that the cd/dvd drive doesn't work, two usb ports don't work and when you turn it off it won't switch back on for at least twenty minutes afterwards... oh and i musn't forget the fact that ne of my Control keys fell off the other week!

Thanks for your help, i can't wait to get back into the technical side of computing again!
