That's it! I have no option but to let Debian go for the moment. :(
I cannot do with having to start my PC twice every time I want to use it.
It is very unfortunate that I id not find any solutions. Not even on Debian's forums. :(

Every time after Windows was used, I get the same symptoms described here.

So I have tried two different distros - Mandriva and DreamLinux and both worked perfectly without complaining about anything. At the moment I am installing PClinuxOS and it looks good. I much prefer it to it's daddy - Mandriva.
I know... it sounds a bit daft but hey.... That is the brilliant thing about Linux! If you do not like the behavior of one distro you can always choose another.... :p
This is something you do not get with Windows!

I am really sorry to let Debian go. I love it, but for some bizarre reason it does not like my hardware... which I cannot really blame it.... It's cheap!
But not all is lost! It will be running on my laptop.

So, orevior Debian! See ya when I can actually afford some decent components.....

That's perfectly alright. Debian has been really good for me, but as you said the great thing about FOSS is choice. Mandriva is not a bad distro, so you should be fine with that.

Ironically, I've just had a bloody hard time with Windows. I've been using photoshop so as expected Windows complained and complained. Hard drive activity was through the roof, automatic updates crashed, svchost.exe used up all the CPU and so I had to kill it. Automatic update wouldn't close, and then out of nowhere my sound died! Trying to open up the volume control program just throws an error. What the hell?! </rant>

Have you tried using LILO instead of GRUB? GRUB is the default bootloader in Deb, but LILO is also an option.

    Thanks both!

No, I have not tried LILO. One of the reasons was that from my understanding it does not get updated automatically when you have a kernel update.

Is this my misconception? :O Is it easily 'work-aroundable'?

I will give a go if it means keeping Debian... :)

    Update:
Nahhh, did not work. I have changed to Lilo and went through the same problem. This time even after I was logged onto the linux install, which is a new thing. This always happened after Windows use.... IIIIII duno..... I am still sure it is all to do with me..... *ahhhhhh*
Thanks for the advice guys....
