I was dragged a URL from the address bar of my browser onto my 4GB OCZ flash drive, but then something odd happened. Somehow this one bookmark split into six other files and a folder, all with bizarre names (n3zo, `+$ngn, etc.). When I try to delete these weird files I get a warning message that says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." I have run my anti-virus software on the OCZ drive several times and it tells me there are no viruses. I even ran my spyware tools and had them scan the flash drive, but came up clean there, too. I was able to save the bookmark again (I put them in their own folder on the flash drive) without any problems. If anyone has any idea about this weird problem or suggestions on how to get this bizarre file off my flash drive I would appreciate the help. Thanks.
If that doesn't work, then copy all other files from the flash drive to your harddisk. Then format the flash drive, and put the data back.
@Karan almost all hardware doesn't work in safe mode[ot]unless you install the DOS drivers and do it the old fasioned way[/ot] try formating the device with something like this
i had no problm detecting my USB HDD...... do u hv any link to this thing or smthing where i can read more about this???
i'll look, i didn't think safe mode detected a USB root hub, but i'll double check Edit: had a quick look, their are plenty of sites with USB pen and safe mode [google]microsoft.com safe mode USB pen[/google] Edit: but i can't find any that say it will or will not work, but if your XP has detected a USB pen in safe mode, i'll have to bow down to you [pray]me[/pray] Edit: so it looks like you are right[ot]damn[/ot]if i think USB pens were not supported in safe mode of Win9x, but i'm wrong about XP
