Do I really need a new monitor?

Hi, I'm ordering my new computer in a week or two (I'm going to need a lot of help with the more minute details, but I'm going to make a huge thread in the General Hardware forum this week for those), and I'm having some last minute doubts about my monitor:doh: . I had originally planned to buy a new CRT monitor, but very few are available. However, I do have a 19inch flatscreen CRT monitor (notice, not flat panel obviously) that came with my Dell about 2 years ago. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, but really I don't know where it stands in comparison to other CRT monitors or to a nice LCD monitor. By budget is also stretched as it is, so not having to buy a monitor could be nice.

Does anyone know how I could check the maximum resoltion/refresh rate and all the other specs? When I go to properties->settings->screen resolution I can turn it to 1600x1200. Doesn't this then mean that the refresh rate goes down or what? And is there like a resolution that it was designed to run at or if I can go to 1600x1200 and my graphics card can keep up, then there's no problem?

Honestly it's really difficult to tell you more about my monitor other than that it came with a Dell, and under the display properties thing it's just called "Plug-and-Play Monitor".

    Thanks.
