I need a way to play games, and I need a new computer. I am thinking about 2 options: 1 Buy a PS3 now, and a Mac with christmas or 2 Don't buy a PS3, and build an extreme gaming pc with christmas. What do you guys think?
Well, what kind of gaming are you doing? If you're primarily doing FPS, the computer has the mouse and keyboard, and even a game controller should you desire. Also, look at the games you like best and see what platform they're available on. Other things to consider: is the gaming for yourself, or do you want to be able to play with others on the system? Have you played around with OS X to know if you like it?
But if I want to build a PC instead, I was thinking about the setup posted here: http://www.hardwareforums.com/new-build-christmas-maybe-17380/
yeah, go for it with the PC, and also get emulators for PS3 and Mac[ot]not sure which emulators cos i've yet to try them[/ot] Edit: there are not too many emulators for PS3 yet
Sure, it would even be much cheaper than a PS3 and a Mac. A PS3 costs €600, and a Mac that is fully customised costs about €2500. So I would have to pay €3100. The PC costs about €2100, so I'll save a lot of money edit: A Mac is included with the screen and has an integrated dvd-drive. If that drive would die, you can of course get an external one, but you're still fed up with that broken dvd drive.
i think a few part (like DVD) are interchangable with Mac's & PC's (i think, correct me if i'm wrong guys) Edit: depending on the Mac you could theoretically set the Mac up to actually view the image from the PC's grfx card, although i don't have a clue how to set it up
