I ran into a few problems with this. After tightening the screws onto the motherboard, I was not able to get the bios screen to come up. After releasing the screws it did, however the tower would slide on the mount with gentle pressure. So how far should you expect to tighten the screws? As far as they can go until they cannot be turned any further? Until the thread can no longer be seen with the motherboard face up? Any hints welcome! Simon
You just have to tighten the screws a little bit, so the motherboard stays in place. You may not overtighten the screws.
Thanks for the answer. Just to clarify I'm talking about the thumb screws that mount the tower (passing through the H plate) onto the motherboard, and then through to the backplate. I just want to make sure I have sufficient contact between the copper base and the CPU. Should the tower move at all? I can move it around on the greese with a gentle twist.
Under no circumstances should the motherboard be mounted such that the back of the board is in contact with the metal case. This will cause a short-circuit and could damage the motherboard.
