Failing to start SAMSUNG USB2 HD

    Does anyone know about external HDs? I have a samsung USB2 external HD and its not working. Windows sees it is there but it doesnt work. The light is turning to green and then red 3 times consequently. I dont know whats going on...:confused:

    Check in Disk Management(RightClick MyComputer > Manage > Disk Mgt) and see if it requires intilization, u will find it on the right hand side bottom of the window...
    This really making me think that there is a hardware problem, i mean USB Hardware...It could be bad HDD inside or the cover hardware u r using to run that HDD...:unsure:

    i've changed the enclosure too but still the same problem...it has power but the lights are trying to say sth that i dont understand...and samsung has the worst customer support they cant even direct me to a service center...

    What type of cable do you have with it? Is it like

    If hook both the cables inside your PC to provide more power because sometimes low power causes problems as well.
    Also have u tried using it on other computers??

    when i bought the new enclosure it came with that usb cable but didnt work. i tired with almost 5 computers. still same problem.

    Ok...then tell me the exact story, what exactly happens when u hook that USB into ur computer....U hear a vioce from ur Computer about a new USB device. DO u c any new device in the MyComputer?
