yup, would just like to say i got real annoyed and was like, yeah screw homework for now, install Linux. I feel pretty good about it, i'm kinda lost, but thats ok, i'll figure it out
oh man, i am so overwhelmed and confused rate now. DUDE, ok well it doesn't really that its late and i'm tired, but man i am so confused..... i feel like such a noob...... and worthless. i'm going to sleep
well, i feel like a loser, here i am, back on windows, and i won't lie, i was a little relieved to see its slow and challenged ass boot up.... anyways, going to try to figure everything out this week, when i'm not real tired and frustrated, that and hopefully everything is in working order, as i bought a redistributed DVD of Mandriva powerpack, i'll do some research and see if there are any issues there, as i got a lot of errors and i'm to tired to remember what they said, but like error (filenamehere) acted erratically and something else.... anyways, sleep for a couple hours.
I installed Mandriva 2007 on my laptop and its been great! It just works out of the box, and wireless is easy to manage with wizards for everything.
Yeah I'm also investigating Mandriva One 2007 for my laptop, but when I try to setup the wireless it says I must join the Mandriva Club for the driver! That's not very Linux-spirited! But I suppose they have to make a living someway or another. I know what you mean about feeling like a noob and worthless. I get that feeling every time I try linux. It's never as easy as Windows is, BUT the satisfaction from getting knowing you've got it setup is well worth it I can tell you. I found the hardest thing was learning how to install programmes, and getting the wireless working.
oh man yes, thats pretty much the only issue i've come across, that and navigation is still a little confusing but its new, so thats natural. Yeah, there is suppose to be a graphical program for installing software, RPMDrake. But it can't find it, anyways, i'm still trying to figure out how to install stuff
