    Hello,

I have downloaded a set of Winrar files of the internet, but when I try to open these I get the error.....

'' The archive is either in unknown format or damaged''

Can anyone help me to resolve this by finding a way to access this?

    PLEASE!!!

    Thank you.

yeah, a .rar is an archive format that doesn't unzip with Winzip (by default, but there is an add in for winzip for it to work with many archives, you want Winrar or a v v good archiver is 7-Zip & it's free unlike Winrar[ot]personally i'd use 7-Zip with .Zip files too[/ot]

are they .rar files, the files may actually be damaged, if they are .rar files try redownloading one as a test and try opening it, if it works redownload the rest of them[ot]not sure but Winrar or 7-Zip may be able to repair a damaged archive[/ot]

I usually get this error because the file's not complete, eg - it's no been download completely. So, as donkey42 already said, try and download it again.
