Hi, I am just looking for a thick, heavy mouse pad of some sort that would work decently well on my somewhat soft bedtop and a laser mouse, lol. This is where I control my home theater pc from, the keyboard is fine but with a regular rubbery mouse pad the mouse sinks too far into the bed. All the ones at my local stores are flimsy.

Putting a book under a normal mouse pad works ok....I would just attach a board to a typical mouse pad but I have no skills, so can anyone link me to a thick or sturdy mouse pad that will actually not fall apart.

I think some of the more expensive gaming pads would do the job, but it's hars to tell online which ones are actually hard surfaced.

its not gonna be easy to find a mat like that but i suggest getting a board of hard wood that size and gluing the normal mat/pad onto it using wood glue or sumthing.

You could even get a hard cover of an old book and glue it onto that

I've never used 'em, but Ratpadz have seemed to be pretty tough.

I use a razer exactmat, its HUGE alluminium about 3mm thick, has two sides - on for speed, and one for precision. I can vouch for it's quality :)

Cool I think you'll like it. To match the green writing on it I bought a custom alienware microsoft intellimouse explorer in green... just a shame it is a quite a few years old now and dies every now and again :D

Seems a bit awkward depending on the angle to use a table...but, yeah a piece of wood could do the trick. I'm not sure about cellophane, as that might have some reflective properties that would screw with a laser or optical sensor.
