I have recently been having too many problems to list with my pc, I wanted to upgrade from XP Pro x64 to Vista, so i did a clean install of Vista after formatting my hard drive. This all worked fine until after about 3 days when it decided to shut down itself. I then couldnt even access safe mode as the computer wouldnt get past where it would usually say "verifying dmi pool data", but as well as saying about the pool data 2 funny looking "Y" and "o" letters followed underneath it. id never seen it before and nomatter what i did i couldnt go any further. Reformatted, this time with Vista x64 and no problems so far, but i never did know why my computer shut down itself, i had no viruses i always check, i keep essential programs only so i have a clean, fast pc, never download anything pointless and it has still done it to every one of my operating systems. The only problem i had was my keyboard, its one that had blue led lights behind the letters, a zippy EL (something), but for some reason the letters G, V, and J stopped working altogether, and i hadnt spilt anything on it. the led lights soemtimes kept flashing when they were meant to stay on as well. anyway after a few weeks i replaced the keyboard with a standard usb one and have never had the problem since, with nay operating system. i know this is a long post about something so small, and sorry for annoying anyone who reads this thinking that they are going to get a different problem solved, but i plugged the zippy keyboard into my xbox 360 just to see if any of the G, V, or J keys worked, and they didnt as i expected, but when i turned my xbox off, i went to bed and it turned itself on by itself! scared the life out of me lol but this happens everytime i turn off my xbox with the keyboard plugged in, only this keyboard, the LED one. it doesnt do this to my pc but when my pc is switched off the keyboard still flashes. i havent got a clue how it turned my xbox on but i just wondered if anyone knows if this could have somehow affected my pc after a long amount of time e.g. damaged it somehow, or been sending power surges to hard drive etc, but whatever it has baffled me lol again sorry for the long post and if it has confused anyone im not that clear with things but if anyone has ever heard of a problem like this id like to know what could have happened, specially with the funny "Y" and "o" letters at startup under the dmi pool data screen, ive never seen that before

But your PC Shouldnt be giving power to the Keyboard after its turned off... :eek:hah:
I dont knw but may be it has something to do with the earth wire:unsure:..check and see if your PC is properly earthed!

it only happens when the pc is turned off by the power switch on the front, not by the wall or at the back of the pc so there is still technically power going to it maybe its my motherboard, ive had hard disk errors before with mbr etc for no reason maybe i am just unlucky lol o well ive changed the keyboard over and it works fine now with vista x64, there are too many things to worry about with pcs for me lol its all one big maintenance:p

Did u check the earth wire with your PC?? coz if earth wire is not connected properly then these type of flaws occurs as unwanted electricity doesnt get earthed..:eek:hah:
