OK well first off I just installed vista ultimate. The first thing I noticed is it apparently doesnt have MS paint in the all programs category so I dont know how to take SS to show anything. When I had windows xp I overclocked my processor to around 3080 MHz and everything was fine. After I installed vista I opened up CPU-Z and it says my core speed is around 2060 MHz. When I installed 3dmark06 it says its still at 3096 MHz, but if I open the nvidia monitor it shows 2064 MHz. I don't know which is right, but I want to make sure I'm running at the 3 GHz speed. Also, no matter which program I've used it shows my FSB at over 1300 MHz, which is the overclocked speed. Another thing I had which isn't really about overclocking, is I ran 3dmark06 after I installed vista and my video cards scored about 2000 points lower then on xp. I'm running 8800 GTX in SLI. If anyone can help it would be appreciated, I'm new here so I'm sorry if I forgot anything. Another thing, which has nothing to do with this forum but I'll include it in this post, is after the vista installation any video I try to play with WMP switches constantly between the video and a green screen and it's very annoying, I tried downloading codecs but I guess I didn't get anything that helped. Thanks.
What CPU do you have? Check in the BIOS for the correct clock speed, it may be that Vista is throttling the clock speed when its not in use, but thats only a guess.
