hi everyone i brought a dell dimension 2350 3 years ago and thought i was getting a good pc ,however as time has gone by i have come to realise its not that good at all so i have decided build my own,can anyone give any opinions on the following motherboard "intel d975 xbx2" and give my any pointers on what to consider if i decide to buy it cheers
It's a good motherboard. However, you can find other motherboards using the chipset on it, Intel's own 975X, on other motherboards that are cheaper. Even then, you may not need a real high-end motherboard. What you should consider: -What this PC will be used for? -What price range you're looking at? For the motherboard? For the computer itself, not including mouse, keyboard, speakers, and monitor? -What, if any, parts are you looking to recycle with this upgrade?
cheers for the reply i want to build a gaming and multimedia pc,i just tried startrek legacy and it was really slow on my pc even with 768mb of ram and a 256mb graphics card so it made me realise that games that are coming out now and in the future my pc cannot handle or will not so i was thinking of building a pc thats going to last a few years and can handle future software as far as recycling i have two disc drives ,a tv card, monitor, mouse, keyboard but need advice on my hard drive(will it fit or not) cheers
if u r really ready to spend for the mobo then u can go ahead..they keep releasing some boards in a while..965 series boards also can compete with those specifications u intimated.. so in tat case u wud save ur money
