hi everyone, i recently had to go into someones computer and backup files on thier harddrive becasue the computer cut on, but nothing goes out to the monitor. it is the wierdest thing ive ever seen. ive pulled the harddrive out and it works fine in another box. the cd drive also work, as well as the ram...the computer is older, and after the files were retrieved she told me i could keep the computer :).. and whats free is free, so i kinda plan on using it. but the graphics card is still not working(or so i thought) the card is a ati rage 128 if that give you anyclue how old the computer is. so i took out the graphics card and put in a working aopen m64-agp card. it doesnt work in this box either. does anyone have any idea why i cant get this thing to give me an outout

Sounds like a problem with the motherboard. Try his/her old video card in a different computer and see if it works. I would also swap out MOBOs on the old computer anyways, it's probably time for an upgrade, if not an entire new computer.
