Summary: TV is detected but doesnt pick up signal.

MY PC is an IBM netvista 833mhz with approx 265 MB RAM.
    Monitor: SONY multiscan 200ES
    OS WINDOWS 2000 PRO
    TV DAEWOO model unknown

After installing the catalyst I haven't been able to get the TVout to work correctly.
The exact problem is that after using the catalyst TVOut wizard, no image appears on the TV.
Í assume that after pressing the APPLY button, the screen should appear automatically on the tv?

The TV is PAL B and has 3 input channels.
My PS2 works fine on the TVIN channel 2, and i have connected the yellow tulip into this SCART entrance.

I don't think it is the SCART input component that could be malfunctioning since attaching a PS2 works fine on that same VIDEO TULIP input.
Also i tested this on another TV (ALSO PAL B) which gives me exactly the same outcome.
So my guess is it should not be the TV that malfunctions.
Also i replaced the tulip cable which doesn't resolve the issue.

The help section online refers to the "old drivers", which allowed the settings to be manipulated through the right click menu on the desktop.

My exact steps up till now:

1 TURN TV ON (with the physical connection already made)
2 START CATALYST BASIC --> wizard: SET UP MY DISPLAY CONFIG

CHOOSE MAIN DISPLAY (SONY DISPLAY, VGA model)
CHOOSE SECOND DISPLAY --> allows me to select "standard TV" (so the tv is detected)

3 select desktop mode: i set this on extended desktop. (which also denotes: CURRENT MODE in bold)

4 catalyst now advices the desktop 2: default tv to be set on 640x480 @ 60 hz.
    Then i press next.

5 catalyst asks me to position the screens by dragging them, i put the TV display to the left of the SONY display. Then i press FINISH.
ND THEN... nothing happens. the TVscreen remains black.

At this point i would think the TV would show the screen.

The TV is from DAEWOO and as far as i know, has no defects.
I really tried a lot myself but now i just don't know what to do anymore. Please help me out.

well i would try a few different modes first and just see if you can get it to recognize the TV, try clone or something like that. Secondly, it might be the SCART connection itself, granted its still sending a signal, but SCART is a French standard, so there might be some issues there. So trying a different input can't hurt.

Int he catalyst display window, under secondary monitor, there should be a button saying "force tv detection". Press this and it should work, I had the same problem and it worked out for me. Saying that though, I tried another TV on it and it would just not work for love or money, so maybe you have a dodgy tv......

actually yeah, try stircrazy's suggestion first, and then look into my suggestion.
