i just got a new monitor from a friend, ts a sony sdm-hs74p lcd. i plug it up and it works for about half a second and then doesnt show anything, upon further inspection(and really good eyes with just the right light) you can see that the monitor is on but it is so dim you can see anything. i know the monitor gets brighter because it does eveytime i plug it in, but it doesnt last. doesanyone have any idea why this monitor is acting like this???
Honestly sounds like a power issue, ether theres a capacitor/s in the monitor that have gone bad, or the light for the backlit screen are dead, but to be honest, i really don't think there is anything you can do besides send it in to Sony.
