thinking about putting vista on my pc

    anyway will my older games still work FEAR,doom3,quake4 etc with it being all dx10 and stuff and there for dx9 as i really want to play shadow run against my xbox360 buddies (dont say get an xbox cos had one and sold it) also does anyone no wherei can get drivers for my scientific-atlanta EPC2100 modem as no point getting vista if i cant get on line. cheers all

    Vista is backward compatible with DX9 games (most of them).

    cool thats good . would i be able to have all my installed games and uninstalled programs on my external hdd then when vista is on can just plug in and start installing from there or will it need to be reformated.

    If you do an upgrade to Vista, your games and programs stay intact. But if you do a clean install, you need to reinstall all games and programs (I would suggest to format the harddisk in that case). Note that there might be some games that don't work on Vista. One of those games is 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin'.

    next step then is to try and find a driver for my modem or else cant come asking for help lol.

    i have done it said everything is ok to go but its not sure about the modem . so i got to find a driver from somewhere.
