I just wanted to know how I could connect a PC(running on Windows Xp) & a laptop(running Vista Home Premium) to a single ADSL2+ modem so that both the pcs can access the internet. The modem has a single ethernet & USB port. Is it possible if I connect one pc with ethernet & the other with USB cable ?

i'm not sure, you may be able to connect an ethernet hub to the ethernet connection (RJ45) however net connections are much easier with a router (most routers already have a built in hub / switch, and the built in switch usually has multiple ethernet ports, also consider a wireless router[ot]for accessing the net on the laptop[/ot]but USB modems can be v v difficult to setup and use

BTW: if you keep that modem only use the ethernet connection
