Apple - Safari 3 Public Beta
I'm amazed... apple claim it's the fastest browser around, true?

I've tried it in Windows. Webpages load even faster than Opera. But the program takes quite a long time to start. But it is still a Beta version if I'm right.

I had a quick look this morning.

Doesn't seem faster than firefox to be honest.
I have never tried Opera so cant compare it to that.

Yeah its still beta so maybe it will get a little better before the final release.

Will do some research maybe there are a few tweeks out there.

I gave it a try earlier, I have to say it is nice. Seems to run on par with my Firefox(+Fasterfox AddOn), I like the overall look and feel of apple software. I primarly use my iMac for everything except gaming; using safart on windows makes me feel a bit more at home :)

Apple software runs very slow on Windows, and also consumes many resources. One example is iTunes. I only use it to put music on my iPod and to upgrade the firmware of it. But it runs quite slow. I experienced the same with Safari.

My original evaluation of it was a little incorrect, after using it for about 24 hours I decided to go back to Firefox, It ran fine but I now believe that Safari isn't widely enough supported on all websites - It makes it a pain for a few websites that I often go to.

Im happy that Apple is starting to expand their product line to Windows platform, I hope they dont go as far as iLife for Windows though - I think that would hurt apple in the long run.
