Hi folks, this is my first post in the forum so I want to say hello to everyone: Hello everyone!!! Well this is my first question: I'm working in a desktop PC with Norton Antivirus 2003 installed. This PC has a bunch of spywares acting as "anti-spywares" and popping up a lot of messages inviting you to download their paid versions. The IE is even hijacked, it takes you to one of these spyware's home page even if you change the default home page. I ran an scan using its own NAV and found nothing. I wonder if its possible to have a prepared CD with any strong virus/spyware removal tool in order to check system like this from "the outside". Thanks
There are some anitvirus companies which does this thing from their websites like Panda but again if you want to delete those virus files or so u have to buy dat software.. Have u tried using AVAST Home Edition antivirus?? Make sure that u delete the NAV before u install the Avast.. Avast is a free AV...so u dont have to buy ne thing More specifically, if u have adwares then install Ad-Aware @ Lavasoft - The Original Anti-Spyware Company - Lavasoft home edition. Its again a free to use software... For full information on XP Security Guide..check [link=http://www.hardwareforums.com/windows-xp-security-guide-9738/]this [/link]thread. Have a Great Day
