This surprised me but according to Great Firewall of China | Test websites www.hardwareforums.com is censored in china! Allthough thinking about it we do discuss more than computers here... but what really stumps me is that I'm sure that semi-recently i noticed a whole load of new users claiming to be from china!
ITs confusing... U said its blocked in China nd then u r saying that lots of users are registereing from CHINA??? :O m feeling dumb...lol
Yeah quite true, you've just jogged my memory nearly 2 years ago i was leaving a party to get the last bus home (mostly sober ) and i bumped into a couple of Chinese guys trying to find the train station, the train and bus station are next to each other so i walked them there and had a great chat about censorship of the internet... i remember him saying "Everyone in china know to use proxy server". As far as i know, the great firewall of china works by faking sending rst packets from both parties when it see's content it doesn't like... so if you ignore the reset packets, your connection is unhindered (other than terminating it could be a problem )
People in China probably look for all the sites that are blocked and go check them out because those blocked sites are probably all the better ones. It's like reverse psychology.
