Hi all. Quick question. Looking at the specs below, what would be my best options at upgrading this PC? I realize that this is no powerhouse gaming machine as it was initially, and still is, a college PC to help with my studies. I can currently run EverQuest 2 fairly well, but have to have the graphics cranked down. Is there anything I can do to help me make it look more visually pleasing?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Compaq Presario SR1910NX
Windows XP Home SP2 w/all Patches
    AMD Sempron 3200+ 1.80Ghz
    1GB System RAM
    GeForce 6600GT 256MB
    Antec Smartpower 2.0 500W

I'd say - the VGA (if you've got a AGP mobo - 7600GT, if you have a PCIe mobo - 8600GT) or the CPU (Sempron and gaming... nah - Athlon would do some more stuff -- better).

yeah with sempron even if you spend 4000$ you will take nothing from that system reading something is good (as you learned 8800gts is good enough but i used it and clearly saw that was a mistake buying it) lol you gotta read more to learn something :D

coming to you dude, you gotta sell that computer and build a new one because ddr rams don't worth any money now or any socket 939 cpu won't help for future as general usage is concerned

just have your case left and sell the others to buy a new one make a budget and then come here for any suggestions because you will just waste your time and money upgrading one or two things for that pc

and don't buy branded pc, no brand deserves money unless you are buying a labtop (it is just only fot that they are givin' guarantee )

neither 7600 nor 8600gt deserve money my friend gaming under 1024 x 768 - low detail or 800x600 - medium detail is not gaming
