Is there a way of plugging a harddrive into a router and accessing the files over the network?

Ive got 3 desktops and a laptop and im sick to death of walking from one room to the next with a usb stick or dvd-rw.

What your looking for is called NAS (Network Attached Storage), Its most likely cheaper to buy a wifi router with a USB port & USB2 drive enclosure than to buy anything which advertises itself as a NAS solution.

If you already have the HDD then you could just buy the enclosure with a USB interface to plug into the new router.
