    What exactly is the error?

Have a search on your drive as it should only be in your system32 folder. If its elsewhere it could be a virus.

What it caused. Is it allow to open drives by double-clicking? If so it's a script. Actually not harmful for the applications setup on your machine.

If the drives won't open by double-clicking then it would most likely be the copy.exe error!

Correct, so it's a script, in other words. Format on a Linux system, it will fix the problem.

The file may be corrupted. I had the same problem before and there is a virus that hides itself with the same name, but sometimes its just a file corruption and not this virus the cause.
Fortunately, I solve my problem just repairing XP. So, this could be an step .
