The driver file is outdated. Go to this page and select Display Driver (instead of the catalyst control center).

you got the system completely f**ked up man

format it and install an omega optimised catalyst driver

    nVIDIA Geforce 8800 8600 7950 7900 7600 GT GTX ATi Radeon HD 2900 XT x1950 x1900 2400 2600 XT Pro - Guru of 3D: PC Hardware Reviews

7.5 will be enough for today

if you don't remove the old driver completely it will surely cause the graphical problems generally and removing it from the uninstall menu will not do it clearly

download the driver cleaner pro and try uninstalling with it then install the optimised driver

and for you RHochstenbach updating the driver without removing will only change the files that are newly released will not fix the problem at all

and cheers up you two guys have formed a new thread and nobody has written anything at all :D what a forum :D

As you might have seen in the pic of dxdiag that he has posted, you can see that the driver file is outdated (v.6.14) If you install version 7.7, the file should be updated.

the older driver files are remained at windows do you konw that also

updating is making newer files on use, but not deleting the older ones

i would have clearly formatted that pc if i were you man, simply much easier than trying to fully uninstall the driver

Thanks for the help but I would have no idea how to do that. I guess I'll have to get my dad's mate in. He knows a bundle about PCs.

Right. My dad can't get hold of his mate at the moment so I'll try here again. Can somebody show me exactly what they think I need to do, so I know I'm not doing something completely different?

    Thanks ~ Liam

Why can't computing be simple. Grrr.

Well, I appear to have solved this problem by accident.

Thanks to anyone who tried to help me originally.
