first of all verify your monitor is working by trying it on another system, and varify your monitor is getting power, if the monitor works on another system you need to test with another (known working) monitor

if no monitors work on your system then try reseating the grfx card & retry with the monitor again

Make sure all the power connections on the motherboard and video card are plugged in.

Update, My psu has a dedicated 12v rail for PCIE power supply, and I've updated the bios on motherboard and as for beeps I dont get any at start up only on shut down, one single beep, oh and the other pcie slot makes no differance.

the card will not work on the secondary slot don't waste your time beacuse that's only used when sli is configured

12v power is supplied, but the ampere is much important at least 30 ampere is needed for a clear usage of that card

try an asus 550watt psu or zalman or vantec or thermaltake or etc. :D just make it a trusted brand hiper is a troublecausing one

and again, checking your monitor is a waste of time too, it is jealous and don't accept 8800gts huh :D mainly these problems are because of mobo, psu or gfx monitor has no role in this game

Thanx Dracos, I've looked into it a bit more and from what I've read it seems you maybe right, my Hiper Type R only has a 20amp +12v rail as a PCIE supply but if someone else could confirm the 8800 GTS 320mb needs 26amp therefore I'm gonna have to buy a more powerfull psu.
