SATA-150 and SATA-300 - compatible?

    i think if you have a SATA 150 system and you buy a SATA 300 drive, the drive is only going to perform as fast as your motherboard allows- which would be 1.5 GB/s? dont quote me on that though!

    I think that's what happens. SATA is backwards compatible.

    Thanks folks. I went with a WD Raptor (10k) SATA 150.
