Ok so i just got a new NEC dvd-rom which i use as a reader for DVD's and CD's... I've been trying to do on the fly copies of music cd's from the DVD drive to the CD burner.... A couple cd's burnt fine, but when i came to burning cd's that were longer than 70-some minutes, the burning would freeze at something like 96%... So what i tried was to take the original CD and play it with the DVD-rom drive... Sure enough all the songs played fine except the last one.. Half way through the last song electronic distortion (squeaky electronic sounds) came in and the music stopped completely... What the hell is happening? Is the DVD-rom i bought defective? I have the LG cd burner and NEC dvd-rom on the same cable going to the secondary IDE port. The DVD-reader is master, and the cd-burner is slave.
Roxia easy cd... never had a problem previously... Again the problem isn't only related to burning... the DVD-rom won't PLAY a music cd past like ~70 minutes before some weird sounds happen and then it just goes silent... and yes the cd's i'm using are in mint condition... I dont know what to do :S
I understand you have the DVD as the Master, and the CDRW as slave in the jumpers, correct? But what is the actual position of the drives on the IDE cable relative to the motherboard?
does the CD play correctly on the cd drives? all the songs? also have you tried creating a image of the cd, to the hard disk and then burning it?
ok... the jumpers are for sure correct. I have found that other lengthy CD's burn fine, only my alice cooper cd doesnt.... I don't know why not, it doesnt have a single scratch.... and it is read fine on other cd- roms.. weird.
it could have some kind of Copy-Prevention System on the audio cd! does it auto play when you insert the cd?
