    Hi friends,

Im having a very weird problem wit a DELL Inspiron notebook. The video drivers seem to be loaded correctly, there is no error in the Device Manager and in the Display Settings I can reach the 32 bits colors and all the possible resolutions.
    But...!!!!!
The things in the screen are too big!!!. All the icons are incredible big and when I open any window I cant even see the buttons at the bottom, they open bigger than the screen. The system try icons are completely pixeled.

I fact...the system looks as if it had a very low resolution but it is not reporting any driver conflict or malfunction.

    Things I've tried:

-Downloaded and installed the latest drivers from DELL site
-Played a lot with all the resolutions(in some of them it just shrink the working space in the middle of the display..the outside turns black)
-Uninstalled the video card from the Device Manager and restarted the system

    What else?????????

    thanks!!!

Hi there, I assume you already tried the display preferences and "Appearance" settings? What resolution are you currently running? Have you tried changing it?

presumably your using XP SP2, however, i don't remember how to do it, but on Win9x if you go into display properties > effects and deselect use large icons

Yes, I played in all the possible ways with all the resolutions. In some of them the working area of the screen becomes smaller and its centered in the middle of the display.

    donkey:
I did that too!!!!...and its set to normal
    :(
