Hi, I have an MSI 875P neo motherboard, and three SATA and one ATA HDs attached, latter via a raid pci card. PC is dual boot Win2K and XP residing on one of the SATAs.
I purchased Farstone Disk Clone Pro 3 following a successful trial for OS partition restoration purposes. The install of the purchased prog greyed out the cloning part as I guess its there with the trial, and gave me an option on disabling OS restore point and using their System snapshot. I felt this would be more reliable given my short experience to date with Msoft restore point and lossage of, giving a rollback of a day or so rather than having to install anything installed since last clone, so opted for it. It mentioned then a virtual drive required and with no ability to go back and unchoose as I recall I had to accept that as well, not liking those much !

Install went ahead then reboot sees win2K in a boot loop, XP boots fully. Decide this prog is coming off win2K, and return it via a backup to a prior state. Bootup and see a DOS type screen snapshot being offered in light blue with DriveClone logo with hit spacebar to snapshot option but it does so even without !!, saying something about hardware change prompts snapshot. I dont want this in a bootup as it takes a while and I am at the start of a pc build with many bootups to come and I want a pure build, none of this stuff ! I return XP to its former state, reboot but STILL that snapshot is there as part of bootup.. hells bells ! How can that be, where is it residing ?

    How to fix ?
    Any ideas please ?

Isn't there some documentation with this program that tells you how to disable certain features?

    Hi,
I have looked through the settings, very few in fact, and nothing to turn this off. Their tech support had me examine registry, one entry there we zapped. other entries they expected in the root folder were not there, two other files were so we zapped those. Still it appears on bootup, just after boot looks for cd. Reinstall the prog, then reboot and uninstall the prog should pull all files out. Nope, still there !
Remove raid card that has single HD ATA (used for backup) and turn caddy off and reboot, and still that snapshot runs !
    Stumped.
