I decided to buy some more RAM for my pc when i got a new graphics card, to increase from 2gb-4, i have put it in but it doesn't say that it is there. I dont have a clue why not. how can i find out why that is?? cheers
actually that is wrong. I did a Steam survey thing and it said I have 2gb but i just found out it is registering 3.5gb, Is it less than 4 because im using the wrong speed or something??
If you are using win xp 32bit then that is why - xp can only 'see' 3 1/2 gb of your 4gb. Solution - move to xp 64bit or vista - neither of which would I actually recommend at this current time ^_^
No im running 32bit vista, does that mean the same thing then?? So its not that ive done something wrong then. Cheers
Afraid so "Windows Vista 32-Bit by default cannot detect more than 4 GB of RAM. Basically this limitation is set because 32 bit system always lose efficiency in managing memory..."
