I downloaded something 3rd party for a game and all I got was a picture of a computers innards glowing red and some obscure porn clip. I immediately deleted these files but I downloaded SpeedFan just to cover my bases. According to it everything is running fine except for my CPU which is around 50C (120F) in which the icon switches from average to dangerously high and a fire hazard. I'm using a Dell Inspirion | 1300 Notebook. UPDATE: My ACPI chip's tempurature's are raising rapidly currently at 52C along with my CPU. Thanks ~Xypher
That temperature is not high at all for a CPU, perhaps not the coolest but laptops never are. Worry not And welcome to the forums
That's why game trainers are bad, lol. But seriously, you definately want to run a virus scan on that, sounds extremely extremely fishy.
presumably your OS is: XP SP2 you also need to scan regularly with Ad-aware & Spybot S & D and also keep the "definitions" up to date BTW: what antivirus & firewall are you running ?
thats not high i recommend getting a laptop cooler a decent one is about 30 dollars, get avast and combofix to clear out the viruses. My cpu hit 86 one time the heatsink wasn't running at all and I put too much thermal paste so yeah thats dangerously high =p
trainers or files that are downloaded rarely have viruses, it is more likely that you have a trogan than a virus...
