Hello there i would like to know what exactly is the difference between Vista Ultimate and Home Premium. Apart from Ultimate having a tiny more programs and games on it, is there a difference in terms of performance?
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/choose.mspx if your thinking of performance, you shouldn't even be looking at vista! (the most wasteful version of windows yet)
If i had to choose between home premium, vista ultimate or diarhorrea on my birthday for the next 5 years and keep XP, i'd go for the last option. Keeping XP is a bonus, and the diarhorrea, well, im gonna be 30 next year and that means Birthday's are kept as low key as possible so as not to let people know that another year has passed.
I don't know for certain, but given that both Home Premium and Ultimate have the Aero interface, my guess is that there really shouldn't be a difference.
So its a con, people buy it because it has the word Ultimate make them think its better then the others when it has the same performance as premium (don't know about the rest) but with a few other additional programs that you will probably not use.
This is M$ we're talking about... your surprised? The whole paying for a proprietary operating system that gets you to use proprietary file formats for everything it can at every possibility so you have to keep on using windows is a con (not to mention changing the proprietary file formats every so often so you have to buy the new versions). [OT] M$ also just got caught bribing a Nigerian company not to put Linux on computers they where supplying to Nigerian schools. [/OT]
Apart from home is the one your grandma uses to access her knitting patterns on the internet. MS bribing people, isn't that libelous. MS are a clean not for profit organisation who work hard to keep the computer industry open to all operating system formats.
Even saying that could cause some sort of paradox, you should be more careful... if the universe gets turned inside out and its your fault i'm not gona be happy!
Ok ok, i'll say a difference. As previously mentioned in another post. Vista Ultimate has 'Texas Hold-em Poker'.
:O no way, seriously? thats done it for me! :swear: Linux based operating systems just have no chance against that! I now understand how microsoft managed to spend so much money developing Vista... developing that poker game must have cost a bomb, so thats why you only get it if you buy the most expensive version of Vista available! I'm going to buy my copy now! the first thing im going to [google]install it on is my paper shredder[/google]
Don't get why everyone hates Vista so much. I understand that XP is better in performance and that vista is hungry for memory but so what i have 6GB installed in my rig and Vista runs beautifully and Vista looks so much better then XP.
