    Hi everyone,

A laptop that will be sitting in my room for a long time has a cracked screen. I am wondering if this is dangerous. I heard somewhere that mercury might leak out of the screen if it is cracked. Is this true? Should I get rid of the screen?

Here's an image of the screen

any lcd problems, as far as the screen ALWAYS have to be replaced. the only servicable parts in and lcd monitor are its power supply, and the inverter. if the monitor still works correctly you just need a new lcd panel installed. any A+ technician can do it for you. (or someone who knows what they are doing.)

Just make sure you don't throw that in the regular garbage, your supposed to recycle any LCD screens. I think they technically have their own waste category for them too.
