I've been recently noticing that my USB flash drive would get pretty hot from having it plugged into the computer. I think it's entirely possible that it has always done this and that somehow I've just been oblivious to it. But maybe this is a recent development? It might have not been as hot whenever I would use it before. I'm not sure. Do you guys think that it's possible that a dying usb flash drive would become hotter than usual?

    Hi,

I know both of my flash drives get warm when they are plugged in but I'm not sure if one getting really hot means it is going bad. Do you always use the same USB port for them? Maybe the port is pumping too much power to it making it hot?

Actually if you use the flash drive for a long time, the heat of the drive should be in constant level. Normally it wont give the pain when you touched it, even after keep plugging whole the day. If so, that mean your drive has an issue.
