my processor is an HT supporting processor and i had turned off hyperthreading

for some reason and noticed it only today will it have any bad effect on the processor?

it has been turned off for like a month i think and now i have turned it back on

    Welcome to HWF :)

Hyperthreading is a technology that allows multiple threads to run simultaneously. When turned on, it gives a performance boost of 15%-30%. It's not bad to turn it off, but the performance might decrease.

If you processor supports HT, you might as well turn it on. Like RHochstenbach said, turning it off does not do any harm, but you would lose performance. Leaving it off would be like buying a sports car and never going above 25 mph. Ha.

the only thing it hurts when shutting it off is performance
