I got a DVD+R drive (on the disk it says Sony, 4,7GB, DVD+Recordable DVD+Enregistrable, and then in a black box 'RW' and DVD+R below that). My friend put some files next to the videos that were already on there (so I guess this is a multi-session disc or whatever it's called?). The DVD was burned under Vista. I cannot open it in Linux, but I can open it in Windows and read and copy from it. However whenever I use a CD burning program to try and erase it, the option to erase the CD/DVD is blank. Does anyone know how I can erase it so I get a blank DVD?

Yeah, I tried both of them and no, I did not try cleaning the write side (back side I suppose) of the disc yet.
