Here is my current pc spec..

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20 GHz
    1.75gb of Ram (333 I think)
    Palit 7300GT PCI-Express 256mb Graphics Card
Asus A8V-VM SE Motherboard for SKT.939 (VIA KM890 Chipset)
Western Digital Cavier SE 160gb (not sure on rpm or buffer)

Basically, I would like a new graphics card for my pc that will get me some good rates with some of the latest games, and with DX10 compatible when Vista gets good and un-bugged.

My price range is under £100 but will stretch slightly over that if its recommended.

I currently get about 60fps on WoW and it ranges from 50-80 on TF2 and CSS depending on how busy the server is.

    Any recommendations?

as for the card as such - I'd probably go for a 8600 - their price range varies heavily and depends on what's on it (what memory/how much ...). Although your RAM, provided it's 333, is kinda slow. And what PSU do you have?

Sorry the RAM is 400hz as I just found out lol.

And I'm not sure on the full specs of my PSU but it's 500w and a PowerX Sumvision

DDR400? any particular make, or just the mass produced stuff?

You just got a bog standard PSU. When upgrading to a GPU that is gonna use more power its probably best to get a PSU that can cope with the extra demand. The Generic PSU's aren't to reliable (not that im bitter cause my PSU is dying).

A 500w PSU should be fine though.

Maybe have a look at Hiper,Enermax, OCZ PSU's.

Ok well I'll see what happens, thanks for help. I have ordered the 8800GT XFX and should arrive on Tuesday, bring on Crysis on max settings :p.

I may buy a new PSU too if it will help with the demand.
