8800GTS ok for Core2 Duo 2.4GHz 800MHz (E4600)

Good evening.

I'm getting my friend an upgrade for xmas, he has a dual core 2.4GHz cpu at 800mhz (E4600) but a bum art teacher for a gpu, i want to get him the best gpu for the correct budget putting in mind the speed of the cpu.

I would suggest the Geforce 8800GT. It has very high performance (only a little less than the GTX) and is not expensive.

 

The GT is faster than the GTS? And will it be suitable for the cpu.

It's faster than the current GTS, but there will be a new version of the GTS which is faster again.

8800 GT all the way forget about the 8800GTS its not worth it man. If you can afford it get a 8800GTX that would be better.
