Well the parents buy the games. If they don't buy them then they can't play them.
Get them Monopoly for xmas instead :D

It's true, a lot of parents have no idea what the rating system even means. In the UK we have the PEGI rating system as well as BBFC (also used for films) and the PEGI system determines the content suitability.

For instance, a 3+ rating means that the content is suitable for anyone over 3 years old, it doesn't mean the game is intended for 3 year olds, just there's nothing in it that would upset someone that young. I came across numerous parents in my old job who thought that 3+ meant it was a game that was only meant for kids. Then there were parents who were buying 18 rated games for their 10 year olds, claiming they didn't mind their kids playing them.

You know i don't understand parents these days because they complain about games being violent and say that people like 50 cent are to blame for kids taking a gun in their hand and shooting people. Well you know at the end of the day its the parents who are responsible for their child i know they can't be there 24hrs a day protecting them but they must teach their children what is right and what is wrong and just trust them to do whats right. Allot of kids who become violent, carry knives and guns are doing so not because 50 cent raps about one or not because they played a game or watched a film where Arnie shoots an entire army with a machine gun. It goes back to one thing FAMILY allot of kids are messed up because their dad is an alcoholic or he is violent or some don't even have a dad and don't know who he was. If your family isn't loving and stable then you go on the wrong path in life. There are allot more factors involved in this but i honestly do not think that violent games, music or TV is too blame its just the media and parents trying to blame someone.

Yeah, pimp, i'll agree with you on that one, i'm not really sure what it is, but this generations parents just want an escape goat for everything and they are never wrong or so anything wrong, so its not their fault. Yeah, i agree, if a kid understands what he's playing isn't real and that thats not how people should behave and they understand that, i don't think we would have such an issue. As far as the rating goes, i don't understand why games and movies don't have the same rating system, would make everything MUCH easier and simpler for people to understand.
