Hello, I'm having problems putting together hardware I received for Christmas with my system.

    My System (Without the upgrades):

    AMD Athlon 3000+
    Gigabyte K8n Pro-SLI w/ 2GB DDR Patriot memory
    100 GB PATA Maxtor drive
    Geforce 7600 GS
    Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
    450 watt Antec Power Supply

    Running network off Motherboard.

    The new upgrades I got:

    Geforce 6100 SM
    Athlon X62 6000+
    400 GB Seagate Sata
    300 GB Maxtor Sata
    2 GB DDR2 Kingston
    TR2 - R1 Thermaltake fan

I've connected my 7600 GS into my PCI x16 slot, connected the new memory, hard drives, and chip into the new motherboard and gotten the computer started.

The problem I'm having is that once I get everything connected, the computer starts, the CPU turns on, the Motherboard turns on, the 7600 turns on, but the HDs, the DVD-Rom doesn't turn on, and everything shuts off immediately afterwards.

What am I doing wrong here? Do I not have a powerful enough power supply? Am I using the wrong connectors? Is there a problem with my motherboard? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or what's going wrong, even.

It could possibly be the power supply but it might not be someone else will have to help with that. Have you looked at the BIOS? Maybe there is something not quite right in there.
