Hello. I just recently bought a bunch of parts to upgrade my PC.
    My Specs are:

    M2N32-SLIDeluxe Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
    2GB DDR2
    7800 GTX 256MB PCI-Express X16 GPU
    Windows XP Professional

The way my computer runs with games such as World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4, and Crysis seems to lack in performance. I ran the tests at Can You Run It? Powered by System Requirements Lab passing with the Recommended line.

I checked my drivers to see if they have all been updated and they have. I have only had this PC for 2 months. I made a fresh install as well when I got it.

If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

I don't think it has anything to do with your software (drivers, windows installation, etc..) I think its more hardware.

While running Crysis or COD4, what does your page file usage look like in task manager? If its above half or so... change your page file a little or upgrading to 3GB may be useful...
but more importantly, your card needs an overhaul! I'm not saying its a bad card, BUT... to get better performance in considerably new games such as COD4 and Crysis you should go for a 8600 and above. I've never had a Radeon bit i hear they're nice

PF Usage = 841 MB. Getting about 56 FPS, little better now.

Running at 800x600, no AA, Normal Texture resolutions.

So a vid card upgrade should fix all this and let me go to High Settings?

maybe, but, first i'd try increasing the swapfile / pagefile size and not let Windoze manage it, ALWAYS adjust it manually because if you let Windoze manage it, Windoze will be continuously resizing it which wastes resources, some games / software require a massive swapfile and the software will not run or run badly without a huge swapfile, try increasing it to 4Gb and see if that helps before you spend any money on a new grx card

BTW: how much RAM does this system have ?

How do I change the swapfile/pagefile size?

I just did 3DMark06 scan, and my score was 3907... ouch.

    I have 2GB of DDR2 Ram

    Right click on My Computer.
    Go to Properties.
    Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Click the Settings button in the Performance area.
    Adjust as needed.

You'll be prompted to restart your system after this.
3907 in 3DMark 06...yeah, that sounds about right for the defaults.
I have the 7900GS, which is about the same level of performance, and that's about what I had for it.

For Crysis, try running the texture detail at Low settings. I could run the demo at 1024x768 and low detail. However, Crysis is a beast, so don't feel too bad if things don't run silky smooth.
