Hi all I have two questions in this forum to ask: 1) Whenever I intend to any softwares, some give two executable files, one for Windows 32bit and the other for windows 64 bit. What are these? I am using the Windows XP Home edition [1GB RAM and 120GB HDD] and how should I know which one to install ? 2) I have a broadband internet connection with a bandwidth of 2Mbps. I understand that when connected to internet, my IP address is my identity in the WWW. But recently I came to know that IP can easily misused by some websites and hackers. Therefore it is essential to protect our IP address while surfing from intruders. I also don't wish to mask(proxy)/hide my IP as it is not legal (?). Therefore, my question is, "Are there some open source softwares to protect our IP or is there some technique in windows to play around?" I am really curious to know about these, please share your knowledge. Thank you for your replies, Have a great day, Regards Vijay
Hi all I have two questions in this forum to ask: This is intended too offer the same type of program but for different platforms (64-bit and 32-bit). If you have a 32-bit Windows installed then you cannot use any 64-bit application. But if you have a x64 system (short for 64-bit), then you need to install the 64-bit version of the program. In some cases i found, since i have Windows XP x64 Pro, you can also use 32-bit applications on a 64-bit system Now, i used to remember the term for "hiding" your IP address. Some websites offer this by payment and i did it once through a friend (maybe someone can help me with the name...). Anyways theres many programs that hide your IP that i've never tried. I.E. - Hide IP - Hide your IP address and protect your privacy - Hide-IP-Soft.com
Why not just use public proxies? They're free, easy to configure and provide a degree of firewall protection.
Thanks 'scorps65', So, Windows XP means 32-bit OS and thank you 'Tech' for mentioning about running a public proxy programs but is there not some risks in running anonymous public proxies? Thanks a lot,
How do you mean? I've gotta admit that I've never come across this on the net. Where did you get this from?
