So I'm currently running my system with 1 gig of DDR400 RAM running in dual channel (twin 512 sticks). I've got a 1 gig stick of DDR333 laying around in my house. My question is - would it be worth the speed dropoff to double the amount of RAM I've got? I'm not looking to run anything fantastically new...the newest thing I run on my computer is Oblivion, and my thought is that perhaps the extra gig of RAM might be a noticeable improvement, despite slower speeds. What do you think?

    My specs currently:
Pentium 4 HT 3.2 ghz (northwood)
    Geforce 6800XT
1 gig DDR400 (dual channel) RAM

Personally I think that you would benefit from the 1gb RAM being installed. Although it's slower, I think you would still see a performance increase (even in Windows).

There's nothing to stop you giving it a try anyway...

More RAM > Faster RAM. Faster RAM is helpful for overclocking, but more RAM will give you more room to work with in terms of applications and the speed they come up as well as a snappier system.
