Hey, I have a p5n e sli motherboard and i was wondering if the corsair dominator memory would work at full capacity on my motherboard?? i have read that the dominator memory works at 1066 mhz and above but my motherboard website says my motherboard works ot 800, 600 and 533 mhz. also is it better to have 2 x 1gb of faster memory or 4 x 1gb of slower memory??
you are correct about your mobo only being able to clock to maximum of 800Mhz, but if you buy 1066Mhz DDR2 you will be able to utilize the faster RAM when you upgrade BTW: why are we never happy with the setup we have 2 X 1Gb, because you can then upgrade, without throwing RAM away or selling it on an auction site BTW: always buy dual channel capable RAM
So basically i don't think i will be upgrading for a while, so i don't think that there is any point in getting 1066mhz ram, it's just gonna be a waste of money for now. because by the time i upgrade here will be better stuff out. it's weird i thought the p5n e sli was a new motherboard so i thought it could take faster ram :/ so what motherboards can take ram faster than 800mhz??
during a quick search of what i concider to be the best online shop i found this that clock upto 1600, however this one only supports upto 1333 & my other supplier has this & this BTW: they both support 800Mhz but not at the same time as 1333 or 1600 BTW: misco are very good at delivering your stuff, basically, if you order with the 3 day delivery 9 out of 10 times you will have your stuff in 2 days, but, novatech are usually better on price (most of the time) i only buy stuff from those 2 places online
