I used to have a asus p5gz-mx and for my E4500 it was easy to overclock just by using fsb but now i got a new mainboard ASUS P5KPL-E and when i want to overclock it it asks for more parameters...fsb is just one. it also asks for 2 kinds of voltage(i cant really remember their names althought one is core voltage i think) i experimented a little bit with them but all i get is errors on POST. if i leave them on automatic and put fsb too high temp stays ok but i get BSD in vista. pls help if u kno more than me or show me where to read about it... i cant take it higher than 2.53
I need specs of the pc. also in comparison what is your old overclock max? Or are you trying to set a goal OC?
wel with the old mainboard i went up to 3.1ghz... not verry stable about comp tech specs... well 4xDDR2@667, geforce 7300gt and i think thats about enough one more thing.... in the bios i can load these OC profiles does anyone have an ideea where i can get them... or are they just for personal use:O
Well I hate to say it but it ain't enough. I assume it's a Asus mobo? OC profiles are percentage based OC's. you can use them to over clock with. Try 5 percent and see what that takes you to. If not enough go higher.
sorry for the delay i was on vacantion i'm not sure how to use the profiles when i enter the menu in bios it just takes me to a kind of open file dialog and i'm supossed to open a certain file i guess
