Will ram effect gaming?

    Hi, im new to the pc upgrading gig and as a gamer, I was wondering if upgrading from 2 to 3 gigs on my vista (home basic) computer would give me an fps boost worth spending 60 bucks on?

    It might. It depends what else is using your ram while you play. Do you have a lot of background services running at the same time?

    I have Mcafee and Steam but never the vista sidebar.

    Then you probably won't notice much difference. although 3 gigs of ram will increase the amount of background tasks you can run

    The higher the ram the you have the better would be the performance of your pc. In gamings, Ram and graphic cards are the most important. High end games requires higher ram and graphics.
