Hello again.. I have another problem with me pooter, I hear a high-pitch humming coming from my psu, the weird thing is its also coming through my speakers (via audio line-out) at the same frequency and occurence. The hum reacts to things i'm doing on the pc, for instance I will move windows around and it will react to it - which is the weird thing, so some kind of voltage regulation sound? It doesnt transmit the sound digitally when I mute-all from volume control, its not any programs doing it thats for sure. Also my hdds tick every second (like my old ones) and the psu's hum ticks in rhythm with the hdds too. what the heck could it be?
PSU and speakers are humming!!!!!1!1! From what I've seen, interference with the speakers comes when they aren't typically plugged in all the way, so that's where I'd start. Also, if they're touching other metal, they can pick up sounds and amplify them to the point you can hear it. In some cases, something like Mic In or Line-In might be picking up something, so if the above doesn't work, try muting these two in the audio control panel.
PSU and speakers are humming!!!!!1!1! weird thing here is if i do that the sound is still there, yet when i "mute all" the hum stops. i seem to have more line-in's than my windows can see (ive installed the drivers and such) i have to point out that the psu is immitating this sound exactly how the audio is doing it, almost like its COMING from the psu, when i take out the line-in plug the sound dissapears, but it does it with all audio cables, even ones that aren't connected to anything else - what i cant understand is why the psu is doing it too,
Hmm... I see that you're using the on-board sound card. Check inside the case and make sure nothing is coming in contact with the motherboard, particularly around the audio chip/codec or the jack cluster. You may even want to remove the motherboard from the case (yes, I know, a real pain) and run it on a non-conductive surface to see if that helps. Also, if you have one handy, I'd try running a separate PCI sound card and disabling the on-board stuff.
